Doug Cook serves as Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer for Jack Brands. Cook brings
more than 20 years of industry experience leading guest and employee-facing platforms to Jack in the
Box and Del Taco. He leverages his foodservice expertise to develop and execute strategic initiatives to
support the brands’ needs.
Before Jack Brands, Doug joined Pizza Hut in July 2019 as Chief Information Officer. He oversaw the
company’s information technology (IT) organization, with responsibility for the deployment of Pizza
Hut’s restaurant and data products as well as other innovative technologies and programs creating a
competitive advantage for the company.
Prior to joining Pizza Hut, Doug was Vice President of Brand Technology (with CIO responsibilities) at
Sonic, where he spent 20 years applying leading-edge technologies and analytics to further the
company’s innovation and market position. Preceding Sonic, Doug served in a variety of IT leadership
roles at Mathis, West, & Huffines and Echometer.
During his 20+ years of QSR experience, Doug has been an active leader in various trade, technology,
and retail organizations, and in 2018 spoke on the IT Leadership Panel at MURTEC, a multi-unit
restaurant technology conference. In that same year, Doug, with other industry thought leaders and
technologists, participated in Hospitality Technology’s “Top Tech Opportunities & Challenges for
Restaurants” study. This publication was aimed at answering the question, ‘What do food service
brands need to consider when planning for this new Experience Economy era?’ Doug remains focused
on navigating the rapidly changing modern retail environment. He understands the difficultly growing
food service brands face in keeping up with the ever-evolving technology expectations
